Early Childhood Music Programs
Early Childhood programs at CCSM are designed to prepare children to study music. We'll get a head start with movement and rhythmic exercises and play games and sing songs that develop basic music concepts as well as important aural skills. Our program makes use of the school’s “Orff Instrumentarium”- a collection of beautiful, simple pitched percussion instruments, like mini-marimbas, specifically designed to introduce musical skills and concepts to kids. Children with this background are much more successful in later instrumental studies, and are having great fun in the meantime!
Tunes for Tots: 3’s and 4’s In this class 3– and 4-year olds play together and are exposed to elementary musical concepts such as pitch, rhythm and dynamics. Movement exercises and singing compliment the use of our wonderful Orff instruments. Parent participation required. Tuesdays or Wednesdays 9:30- 10:30 Tuition $115
Kinders Create: 5’s Using the school’s collection of instruments, children will explore pre-literacy activities that prepare them for pitch discrimination and note and rhythm reading. Miss Becky’s Band: Grades 1-3 and 3-5 Come play in Miss Becky’s Band!
