The Artists Committed to Excellence (ACE) Program at the Cascade Community School of Music is an innovative initiative to strengthen and deepen the quality of musical experience for youth. The core of the ACE program consists of rigorous instrumental instruction classes with high expectations of students and their families. Our goal is for you and your child to have a successful and inspiring experience that builds a life-long relationship with music making.
The instrumental instruction classes (Piano, Violin, Flute, Guitar, Drums) are designed as 2-year programs. In this time, your child will learn to play and care for their instrument and be introduced to music theory, music styles and history. More importantly, this course of study teaches the relationship between dedication, hard work and success.
The classes in this program are not for everyone. Please review the requirements carefully as a family before making application.

Significant parental involvement in this program is required. A parent is also required to attend the first class to meet the teacher and learn about specific class expectations. Parents are welcome and encouraged to attend subsequent classes. “Suggestions for Successful Practicing” can be very helpful in establishing supportive structure for this commitment– it is available on our website, or from your teacher.
We use progress evaluations as part of all youth classes to help us ensure a successful experience. Students must demonstrate adequate progress to continue in the class.
Please call the school if an absence is anticipated. After a second missed class a student may be required to schedule a private make-up lesson with the instructor, at the student’s expense.
