Kindermusik Comes to Cascade School of Music

We are happy to announce the addition of Kindermusik to our Early Childhood program. Our two tremendous teachers, Amy James and Barbara Hogstad will begin teaching classes starting September 16th.
As a former grade school teacher, Amy James used music in the classroom to create a conducive, learning environment, aid in transitions and help teach history, math and grammar. In 2005, she became a licensed Kindermusik educator and has educated more than 200 Central Oregon parents and children on the joy and role music plays in the early development of every child. She holds a Masters degree in teaching early childhood from and is a member of the National Association for the Education of Young Children and the Early Childhood Music and Movement Association.
Through her college background in Recreation Administration and Early Childhood Education, Barbara Hogstad pursued positions where she was able to include music and her love for children. This has included being a preschool teacher, a camp director and a mother of four sons. Miss Barbara has a gift for creating a fun and safe environment for children and their parents where they can express themselves with music and movement.
